All You Do Is WIN!

Celebrating Wins

If you have the WILL, YOU already have the WIN! Now let’s talk about celebrating your wins in 2023 and beyond. It’s important that we make time to celebrate our wins, our victories, and our achievements. It’s okay to pat yourself on you back and marvel at the fruits of your labor. Grab your journal right now, open it, put today's date and write what are your latest wins? Did you close on your first home? Did you earn a strategic certification or advanced degree? Did you have a solid year-end review, or did you earn that highly coveted promotion? Whatever it may be, it’s your WIN, and your time to celebrate YOU!

In my endeavors both academic and professional, I have managed to find my tribe, a community of extraordinary supportive individuals that acknowledge everything that I have accomplished in my lifetime and were truly happy for me. They have in most instances been my biggest cheerleaders and celebrated with me along the way. I’ve also discovered that everyone will not always be happy for you, and that’s okay for you to celebrate independently, but if you have that community, that tribe, that circle that truly is excited for you, cherish it. Remember, people can’t support you if they don’t know what you are doing.

Here are five tips to add to your toolbox that you can apply when you are ready to start celebrating YOU:

1. Take time to appreciate your accomplishments - schedule some time daily to take a few moments to recognize what you've achieved and to be proud of yourself.

2. Celebrate with friends and family - celebrate your wins with those closest to you. Whether it's dinner out or a party in your home, it's always nice to share your successes with the people who are important to you.

3. Write down your successes - weekly make it a point to document your wins. This act of recognition will help you stay motivated and focused on future successes.

4. Treat yourself - reward yourself for your hard work with something special. Whether it's a gift to yourself, a day trip, or a massage, make sure to take time to celebrate and enjoy the good that your commitment and dedication has brought to your doorstep.

5. Give back - find a way to give back and help others. Whether it's volunteering your time or donating to a cause, sharing your successes with others through a selfless deed or act is a great way to keep your accomplishments in perspective.

It is so rewarding to celebrate our wins, no matter how big or small. Doing so serves as a great motivator to keep you pressing onward and upward. Celebrations come in all shapes and sizes, so don't be afraid to get creative! It’s important to take a step back and recognize the hard work you put in to get where you are.
